Dr Archbishop Steven Lyn Evans is a theologian, researcher, author, broadcaster, humanitarian, and international church leader. As Presiding Archbishop of The International Christian Church Network (TICCN), he provides spiritual oversight, leadership development, theological education, and humanitarian support to churches, ministries, and Christian leaders across numerous nations. Born in Wales, Archbishop Evans developed an early passion for communication, leadership, and faith. His journey would take him from the world of professional entertainment to international Christian ministry, combining academic scholarship, practical leadership, and a commitment to helping people become all that God has called them to be.
Archbishop Evans earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Theology from London Bible College (now London School of Theology) and was awarded the Cambridge Certificate in Evangelism. During his early theological development, additional studies within the Methodist tradition were facilitated by Dr Lord Griffiths of Wesley's Chapel, London, under the supervision of John Walters QC.
He later completed a Master of Theology (MTh) degree through St Michael's College, Cardiff, part of Cardiff University. Following the completion of his postgraduate studies, he commenced doctoral research under the supervision of Professor William Kay, one of Britain's leading scholars in Pentecostal and Charismatic Studies.
His research focused on the theology and history of the Word of Faith movement and was subsequently developed into the book Word of Faith: Exposing the Critics' Mythology. The work has been used in ministerial training and theological education and has contributed to wider discussions concerning Pentecostal and Charismatic theology. In recognition of this scholarly contribution, Archbishop Evans was awarded doctoral degrees in theology and ministry.
In addition to his academic work, he has authored numerous books, study courses, and educational resources covering theology, church history, leadership, discipleship, Christian unity, faith, and human development.
Before entering full-time ministry, Archbishop Evans enjoyed a successful career in the entertainment industry. Leaving Wales as a young man to pursue his dream of becoming a professional singer, he quickly established himself on the national stage.
Throughout his musical career he worked with prominent figures within the British entertainment industry and performed in major venues and productions. One of the defining moments of his life came during the Royal Variety Performance in 1996. Following a conversation with legendary Welsh singer Tom Jones, he experienced what he describes as a profound call from God to devote his life to Christian ministry. This pivotal encounter marked the beginning of a new chapter that would ultimately lead from the stage to the sanctuary.
Since entering ministry, Archbishop Evans has devoted his life to preaching, teaching, leadership development, church planting, and mentoring Christian leaders.
